The strengthening of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) is carried out within three areas of capacity building
Individual Level
This accommodates the capacity building needs of human resources (individuals) within a CSO according to the learning subjects required for improving organizational accountability.
The outcome of capacity building at the individual level: An individual action plan that supports the development and/or strengthening of program and managerial skills, which will be monitored for a specified period.
There will also be an evaluation of changes and the positive impact of the individual on their organization.
Organizational Level
This accommodates the comprehensive strengthening needs of organizations to meet the minimum accountability standards for NGOs/CSOs. This process begins with an organizational scan to determine the organization's position in terms of 'thinking,' 'being,' 'doing,' and 'learning.'
The results of this organizational scan form the basis for a comprehensive review and strengthening, covering aspects such as legal entity, program management cycle (Planning-Implementation-Monitoring-Evaluation-Learning), Financial Management, Human Resource Management, Information Systems Management, Knowledge Management, Feedback Response Policies, and Protection and Security Policies.
The outcome of capacity building at this level: The NGO/CSO has clarity on its legal status and can draft a system and/or Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) in a participatory manner. The SOP must also be tested and ultimately become the guide for good organizational governance systems.
Institutional Level
This accommodates the needs of CSOs to build a learning organizational culture that supports the sustainability of the organization's mandate, program innovation, and organizational resources.
The outcome of capacity building at this level: The NGO/CSO adopts a learning organizational culture, thereby having a clear roadmap to maintain organizational credibility and sustainability.
